Was
wasting some time
being productive at work this afternoon shopping for new beemers and came across this. I like it. Best part of this particular one:

BMW options silliness at its finest:
Extra chrome trim on the bumper and bimmerangs with the Luxury Package, but accessory black kidney grilles and mirror caps.
Because...reasons?

This isn’t the same as the M2 Long Beach Blue?

Have you seen all the M Performance kit that BMW peddles?
It makes an otherwise normal BMW look obnoxious.

Also, their optical illusion wheels. They look like they’re a very thin-spoked chrome. In reality, they are a thicker black spoke with a thin chrome strip in the middle them.

The name is different, therefore it must be different. Certainly the M version of a similar color is faster than this plebeian 430i.

They also cost “only” $900 according to the configurator.

Oh yeah, there’s loads of it. The dealers love the stuff, of course. It’s so easy to make the cars extra tacky, and I say this even though I drive a damn modified BMW.
Last year when I was test driving assorted new BMWs before deciding to buy a used one and modify it, there was a white 340i with all the M Performance baubles including some garish tape stripes on the showroom floor. Basically this, exactly, but also the M Performance exhaust, and no front plate to hide over the stripes.
The sales lady was like, “isn’t this one so cool?” and I tried to be diplomatic with some comment about I couldn’t pull off driving around with those stripes.
I mean, come on, it’s a 340i, not an M3 Lightweight.

‘Bimmers’, not ‘beemers’.
Nice color, though!

To be fair the 340 is probably faster than the e36 lightweight

It’s definitely faster but that doesn’t mean it’s not tacky.

Oh yeah big time tacky. I saw an m550i covered in m5 badges and stripes and with a huge wing. You already have 450 horsepower you don’t need to prove it to anybody.

I saw an X4 in a color very much like this today. I was very conflicted. Lovely color. Hideous car. You know?

ha - I caught a glimpse of the pic and went, “oooh, that’s a nice color,” then read the headline. I don’t think I like those wheels though...
